Chuck Mosley And Friends 5 Years

Faith No More last performed together on stage five years ago. Roddy, Bill, Mike B and Jon were joined by the late and great Chuck Mosley to celebrate their debut record We Care A Lot.

On June 2nd 2016 FNM announced that they would be returning to their roots and releasing a deluxe version of their 1985 album We Care A Lot. Bill Gould had stumbled across the master reels in his attic and he and Matt Wallace set about remastering and remixing the thirty year old tracks.

The band had returned to writing and recording and finished promoting their first new music in eighteen years, Sol Invictus, only twelve months previously and now felt like the right time to be nostalgic.

The band had become reacquainted with their old front man during the Second Coming tour, and had invited Chuck to guest with them for the first time since 1988 in the April of 2010. He joined them onstage again during the Sol Invictus tour in the May of 2015.

"I went up and blew out one of the hardest songs they asked me to sing, I wasn't real warmed up and I get nervous. I always get nervous, every single show I've played I've been nervous. That was even more nerve wracking because it's been a long time since I played with those guys. But it was fun, it's always fun." - Chuck 2016

These appearances were spectacular for true FNM fans who appreciated the history of the band and connected with their first two albums.

When the reissue of their first record was revealed Bill addressed the possibility of Chuck returning again to front the band.

"We have a couple ideas but nothing we want to talk about just yet. But Chuck is totally into the project and we've been talking a lot with him about it" - Bill 2016

At the beginning of August 2016 the band announced listening parties all over the world, at which fans could get a first taste of the remastered 1985 music. The three founding band members subsequently conducted many interviews revealing fantastic details about their early days and we even treated to some unseen live footage from 1986.

On August 16th, three days before the release of We Care A Lot Deluxe, the original Faith No More line up including Chuck (with Jon standing in for Jim Martin) blew our minds with news that would perform together at Great American Music Hall in San Francisco on August 18th, and The Troubadour in LA on August 20th.

Roddy Bottum shared a photo of the new/old FNM on his social media with the tag 'this is happening people and I'm fucking serious. get to CA!!!!!!!!!!'

"It was a blast. I mean it was brutal. Yeah, I was worried about falling over or fucking up but I didn’t do either. So, it was really good." - Chuck 2016

Both nights were tremendous and helped some fans discover a whole new side to the band they love. Even Mike Patton showed up to watch.

These shows would be the last time FNM would play together and tragically the last time we would see Chuck with his old bandmates.
