The original Metallica bass player would have celebrated his 59th birthday on February 10th.
On his birthday we celebrate the legendary musician who tragically lost his life in 1986 aged 24. In 2017 supervisors in Alameda County named February 10th Cliff Burton Day and each year since Mike Bordin has joined in remembrance of his childhood friend.
In 2021 the event is marked with a special online event including a Twitch livestream hosted by film director Nicholas Gomez and featuring several of Burton’s friends and bandmates, including Fred Cotton and James McDaniel of Spastik Children, Metallica roadie/Metal Church guitarist John Marshall, Vio-lence singer Sean Killian and of course Bordin.
